Outcomes: 1) Salary and fringe benefits for a postdoctoral associate who functioned as Project Director, Operations Manager, and/or Data Curator. 2) Dr. Sara Ramírez (postdoctoral associate 2017-2018) was hired as an assistant professor at Texas State University and Dr. Mary Thomas (postdoctoral associate 2018-2021) was hired full-time as Director of Programs at US Latinx Art Forum.

Amount awarded and expended: $22,476 to Dr. Karen Mary Davalos
Outcomes: 1) Living wages for undergraduate interns. 2) Travel and accommodations to investigate 14 institutions and their collections, digitization priorities and technical infrastructure. 3) Established interest and partnerships with multiple institutions including the National Museum of Mexican Art (Chicago); National Hispanic Cultural Center (Albuquerque); Smithsonian Institution (Washington, DC); International Center for the Arts of the Americas at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and University of California, Santa Barbara, Special Collections Library.

Amount awarded and expended: three years of salary and fringe at 25% time for ABD Graduate Research Assistant (approximately $12,500 each year).
Outcomes: 1) Salary and fringe benefits for graduate research assistant for Rhizomes Initiative. 2) Mentorship to support career development of the graduate assistants. The first graduate research assistant has completed the PhD and has been offered a tenure-track job. The second graduate research assistant is scheduled to complete the PhD in Dec. 2021.

Outcomes: 1) Supported travel and accommodation costs not permitted by NEH to gather federally-employed experts to determine culturally-informed search strategies. 2) Visualization of landscape analysis of libraries, archives and museums with relevant collections of Mexican American art.

Amount Awarded and expended: $60,000 to University of Minnesota
Outcomes: 1) Co-creation of “Socio-Technical Protocol.” 2) Identification and development of culturally-informed controlled vocabularies, metadata, and search strategies. 3) Submission of new metadata to Getty Research Institute's Union List of Artist Names (ULAN).
